Joulwatt has rolled out the JW7726T, a high-performance multi-mode synchronous rectification controller tailored for power adapters, LCD/PDP televisions, and other display power applications.

Providing native support for active clamp flyback (ACF), asymmetric half-bridge (AHB), and traditional CCM, QR, CrCM, and DCM topologies, the IC drives external MOSFETs to displace conventional Schottky diodes. By sharply slashing secondary-side conduction losses, the JW7726T dramatically boosts conversion efficiency and thermal performance, offering a versatile pathway toward high-power-density, space-saving power architectures.

Engineered for ultimate flexibility, the JW7726T supports both high-side and low-side sync-rect configurations alongside full operational compatibility across DCM, CrCM, CCM, and QR modes, easily managing harsh continuous conduction demands. Real-time, precision monitoring of external MOSFET Vds governs the switching logic: turn-on triggers promptly when Vds dips below -140mV, while cut-off executes at Vds above 15mV, effectively erasing reverse conduction and body-diode penalties.

Additionally, direct output-voltage biasing removes auxiliary winding support circuitry, which, paired with a minuscule quiescent draw, optimizes light-load and standby efficiency. Supplied in an SOT23-6 package, the footprint trims peripheral BOM overhead for tight-budget, space-critical consumer electronics.
