Recently, Amazon North America began investigating the certification of the product on sale. The charger products particularly need to be reported to UL62368-1, and the previous UL 60950 report is no longer being used. This move caused many charger listings to be removed and even deleted completely.
UL62368 is a standard for power supply safety regulations in North America, mainly aimed at temperature rise, withstand voltage, insulation, and other requirements.

Recently, Shenzhen Xinspower Technology Co., Ltd, a well-known fast charging Manufacturer, took the lead in obtaining the UL 62368 standard certification. The UL official public account also published an article to confirm that this certificate is the first 140W GaN fast charging charger UL certificate in mainland China. Many new certified PD3.1 standard chargers from Xinspower were also launched at the same time, which were made for Macbook Pro 2021 users and new standard devices.

The size of the Xinspower 140W three-port GaN charger is only 73 x  73.2 x 29mm (2.87 x 2.88 x 1.14 inches), and the power density is 0.58W/cm³. It comes with two USB-C and a USB-A ports.
Since USB-C1 is developed based on PD3.1, except for the regular PDOs of 5V3A / 9V3A / 12V3A / 15V3A / 20V5A , it also supports the extended voltage output of 28V5A. USB-C2 supports 100W PD3.0 fast charge output, and USB-A supports 30W multi-protocol fast charge output.

Summary of ChargerLAB

It’s not something new that Amazon restricts product certification from time to time. This time, Xinspower took the lead in obtaining the UL 62368 standard certification to prepare customers for legal sales in advance.
The two chargers above from Xinspower have been issued the UL62368 standard (including USB safety assessment) by the UL certification agency in the United States, which means UL has recognized them in safety, quality, stability, etc. They also have passed product testing, factory audits, etc.

Both PD3.1 chargers from Xinspower support extended voltage output of 28V5A , which is suitable for MacBook Pro 2021. Compared with Apple’s original one, it provides more output ports, multiple devices charging, wide voltage, and can be changed to different input prongs.
