Leading the Industry | Peterpower Launched PD3.1 140W Power Strip

The maximum power of USB PD fast charging has been limited by the PD3.0 standard all the way, that is, the maximum power can only be up to 20V5A 100W, which is unable to serve devices with greater power demand. The launch of the new USB PD3.1 fast charging standard has increased the USB-C connector's maximum power from 100W (20V5A ) to 240W, enabling the USB-C connector to have stronger power supply performance. In October 2021, Apple released 16 inches MacBook Pro 2021 and formally adopted 140W PD3.1 fast charging, which also boosted the PD3.1 fast charging market.

Peterpower took the lead in the layout of the PD3.1 fast-charging market. In August, it launched more than ten types of PD3.1 GaN chargers, which comprehensively covered different user groups. Recently, Peterpower created an innovation again. It applied PD3.1 fast charging to the power strip, so that the power strip gets on a new high-speed train with PD3.1 fast charging.

Petepower's PD3.1 fast charging power strip can be divided into retro and fashion series. Both adopt the same PD3.1 fast charging module. First, let's take a look at the retro series. The color palette of the power strip has been selected to match the colors of European vintage vehicles. The orange, blue and yellow colors are combined with the metal plating texture of the bottom, which brings the user back to the golden 1960 age.

In terms of its specification, the retro model has two GB 2+3 AC sockets, a built-in safety door against electric shock, and a separate control switch to better control the power on/off. The specifications of sockets can also be customized according to customers. You can choose different country/region standards.

The appearance design of the yellow and gray fashion series power strip is different from the retro series, which is younger. Most parts are gray, and the USB panel is yellow. With eye-catching yellow words, the overall feeling is very lively.

As for the fashion series, it's also equipped with two GB 2+3 AC sockets, anti-shock safety door, 2C1A USB fast charging module, and a switch button. The socket can also be customized according to customers. You can choose different country/region standards.

The USB PD3.1 fast charging module used in the retro series and the yellow and gray fashion series is the same. Both have three output ports of two USB-C and a USB-A, and support a maximum output of 140W. USB-C1 / C2 share the same specifications, so a single USB-C port can support up to 140W output. They support five common PDOs of 5V3A / 9V3A / 12V3A / 15V3A / 20V5A and a set of PPS of 5-11V4.05A. They also support 28V5A, a special PD3.1 PDO. The USB-A supports 18W output (QC3.0 fast charging) and three fixed PDOs of 5V3A, 9V2A, 12V1.5A.

When charging multiple devices, it can be divided into different groups of 140W, 100W, 65W+65W, 100W+18W, and 65W+45W+18W. The power distribution strategy is automatically adjusted based on the number of inserted devices. Up to three devices can be fast-charged at the same time.

Summary of ChargerLAB

PD3.1 will be a new trend for charging consumer electronics in the future. Only by entering the market in advance can we seize the opportunity. After releasing more than ten types of PD3.1 GaN chargers, Peterpower has brought PD3.1 to the power strip to accelerate the iteration of the power strip market.

Peterpower has a high-performance and forward-looking USB fast-charging module. It is downward compatible with the mainstream protocols of PD3.0, which means that users do not need to have an extra PD3.1 charger and can significantly simplify desktop space and travel luggage. The two USB-C ports and a USB-A port can also meet the fast charging needs of ordinary users.

We are accepting OEM/ODM orders for the 140W power strip series.
