ICM has introduced the CM1143-BBS, a single-cell Li-ion/Li-polymer battery protection IC that streamlines compact electronics design. By integrating a high-precision detection circuit and a low-resistance power MOSFET (16mΩ typical) into one package, it replaces bulky external component setups. This design choice effectively lowers power loss and thermal output while saving critical PCB space—an ideal solution for small, space-sensitive products.

The CM1143-BBS provides a robust safety net, featuring precise voltage thresholds (4.475V/2.40V) and comprehensive current protection, including 9.0A discharge over-current, 27.0A short-circuit, and 6.0A charging over-current detection. Additional safety is provided by a 165°C thermal protection trigger. Furthermore, its ultra-low power consumption (1.5μA in operation; 1.0μA in over-discharge) helps preserve battery capacity during long-term storage. Housed in an SSOP-3 package, the CM1143-BBS is a highly practical, cost-efficient solution for modern battery protection PCBs.
