Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) has unveiled the MP5515, an advanced power management IC tailored to the high-efficiency backup needs of enterprise SSDs, NVDIMMs, and other critical systems requiring reliable power continuity. Operating in a 2.7V to 18V input range, the MP5515 integrates a bidirectional boost-buck converter with reverse-current protection, supporting up to 5A for consistent load handling and ensuring backup power in case of main supply disruptions.

Engineered for versatility, the MP5515 features programmable storage voltage up to 32V, allowing for adjustable power thresholds to accommodate different applications. Key functionalities include I2C support, which enables real-time control and monitoring of power parameters, including input current limits, temperature, and capacitor health. The built-in ADC further enhances system monitoring by providing critical data on voltage, current, and system status, which helps in preemptively addressing issues before they impact performance.

In addition to performance benefits, the MP5515 is designed with robust protection features such as thermal shutdown and over-voltage protection, enhancing system reliability even in demanding operational environments. Its compact QFN-30 package (5mm x 5mm) minimizes space usage, making it ideal for high-density hardware configurations.
