With efficiency and power density taking center stage in adapter design, secondary-side rectification losses from legacy Schottky diodes are now a critical bottleneck. Enter the JoulWatt JW7726AD—a highly integrated, 100V-rated synchronous rectifier designed to change the game for isolated topologies. Packed into a space-saving SOP-8 footprint, the JW7726AD integrates a premium 10mΩ power MOSFET right onto the silicon. By swapping high-loss diode drops for an ultra-low impedance active path, it slashes thermal buildup, giving developers the hardware edge needed to hit new milestones in efficiency and thermal management for flyback and fast-charging adapters.

The JW7726AD shines in system versatility and dynamic response. It is a drop-in fit for cutting-edge Active Clamp Flyback (ACF) topologies while maintaining flawless backward compatibility with DCM, CrCM, CCM, and Quasi-Resonant (QR) architectures. Supporting both high-side and low-side configurations, it adapts effortlessly to any power level or control scheme. Efficiency is designed into every layer: the IC draws VCC directly from the output and boasts exceptionally low quiescent current, ensuring stellar efficiency during light loads and high-frequency standby. Furthermore, its ultra-precise Vds sensing network reacts instantly: turning on the sync MOS the moment Vds drops below -140mV, and executing a lightning-fast shutoff when Vds climbs back above -6mV. This aggressive optimization squeezes out every drop of conduction loss while completely eliminating reverse current spikes, ensuring bulletproof stability under brutal dynamic loads.

Proven in volume teardowns—like the 35W GaN charger by Xihui Da—this IC represents a highly mature, field-tested solution for thermal optimization.
