Southchip Semiconductor has unveiled its latest innovation, the SC3107, a high-performance, multi-mode flyback PWM converter IC that integrates multiple functions in a single compact package. This all-in-one solution is designed to simplify AC-DC adapter designs for portable devices, offering a combination of efficiency, advanced features, and robust protection.

The SC3107 incorporates cutting-edge GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology with a 700V, 240mΩ GaN switch for enhanced efficiency and compact design. It supports multi-mode operation, including Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), adaptive switching frequency fold-back, and burst mode operation to optimize efficiency across varying load conditions. Furthermore, Southchip's proprietary SC-PQLINK® technology eliminates the need for optocouplers by leveraging reinforced isolation for secondary-side regulation.

  • High Integration: Combines a GaN switch, primary controller, synchronous rectification controller, and fast-charge protocol controller.

  • Comprehensive Protections: Includes over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, and over-temperature protections.
  • Advanced Protocol Controller: Integrated 32-bit MCU core with 32K OTP and 2.5K SRAM.
  • Enhanced Features: Dual DACs for precise voltage and current regulation, support for NTC temperature sensing, and VCONN for E-Marker cables.
  • Compact Design: Eliminates external components, simplifying system design and reducing costs.

The SC3107 is tailored for AC-DC adapters used in portable devices, particularly those requiring fast charging and compliance with the latest Type-C and PD 3.1 standards. Its innovative design makes it an ideal choice for next-generation high-power adapters with output power up to 100W and beyond.
