High wattage chargers are getting smaller and smaller in recent years. Anker impressed us not long ago with its PowerPort Atom PD 1, and today we are stunned by an engineering sample from ZMI (Xiaomi’s sub-brand focusing on mobile accessories) which is probably the world’s smallest 65W charger. Let’s take a quick look.

The ZMI 65W charger features a two-tone design with a glossy and matte finish which is a nice match for your Google Pixel phones. Dimensions: 50*50*28mm (2.0*2.0*1.1in).

Specifications. Model: HA712. Input: 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz, 1.0A. Output: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A, maximum 65W.

Foldable prongs, Mainland China standard (US compatible).

Single USB-C port.

Taking a look at a different angle.

The Apple 30W PD charger on the left, ZMI 65W charger in the middle, and the Apple 61W PD charger on the right. The ZMI 65W charger is even smaller than the Apple 30W PD charger. Wow.

So does the ZMI 65W charger packs GaN technology inside? As we know GaN (Gallium Nitride) can greatly simplify the design of a charger with higher efficiency and smaller size. We will find out soon. Stay tuned!
