Introduction
In the information age, both personal and corporate data are of utmost importance and require secure and reliable storage solutions. NAS (Network Attached Storage), as a popular data storage device, has made its way into more and more homes and businesses, offering large-capacity cloud storage. However, the risk of data loss due to power outages remains a major concern for many users. The advent of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) has provided a solution to this problem.
Recently, we got our hands on the UGREEN 120W DC UPS. It features a full aluminum body, a compact design, and weighs only 439.2g. Equipped with a built-in 12,000mAh lithium battery, it can provide up to 10 minutes of emergency power. It's important to note that this UPS is compatible only with UGREEN NAS devices and is perfectly tailored to integrate with the UGREEN NAS system. Let’s take a closer look at how it performs in real-world use.

The above are the NAS models that are compatible with the UGREEN 120W DC UPS, for reference.

User Experience

Connect the UGREEN 120W DC UPS to the UGREEN DXP4800 NAS's power adapter, and then output to the NAS via the DC5525 power cable; thus, the power supply, UPS, and NAS are connected in series. Finally, use the provided communication cable to connect the NAS and the UPS.
System Settings

After connecting, find the hardware and power settings in the system's control panel.

Find the UPS option, the NAS will automatically identify the UGREEN US3000, and you can set the duration for UPS intervention after a power outage as needed.

After the settings are completed, you can view the UPS connection status and setting options.
Simulated Power Outage Test
Before starting the simulated power outage test, set the NAS system to enter "standby mode" 2 minutes after a power outage.

Unplug the power plug to simulate a sudden power outage.

At this time, the system will prompt "Switched to UPS mode".

After 2 minutes, the device enters standby mode, with the indicator light breathing and blinking, and the hard drive stops running. After power is restored, the NAS will automatically restart.
Summary of ChargerLAB
As an intelligent UPS designed specifically for UGREEN NAS, the UGREEN 120W DC UPS offers a reliable data protection solution for NAS devices through its compact, all-aluminum body (designed to match the NAS color scheme) and high compatibility. From practical testing, it effectively triggers the NAS's safe shutdown mechanism in the event of a sudden power outage, ensuring a seamless experience with minimal disruption. It essentially meets the core user need for data security protection.
Most mainstream UPS systems on the market today use lead-acid batteries and output 220V AC through an inverter, while the UGREEN 120W DC UPS adopts a lithium battery and a DC direct-pass setup, making it smaller and more intelligent. However, its design is more suited to lightweight application scenarios, and it is only compatible with UGREEN NAS devices. Additionally, the number of output ports and power output range may not meet the high-load, multi-device requirements of enterprise-level needs.
For regular households or small studios, the UGREEN 120W DC UPS strikes an excellent balance between space efficiency and security protection. With the increasing awareness of data security, UPS devices with integrated smart management capabilities like this one may gradually become the standard in home and office environments.
