Qi2 Wireless Charging Gains Momentum: Apple Leads, Samsung Follows

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has released its latest list of Qi2-certified smartphones, marking significant progress in the adoption of this next-generation wireless charging standard. As of January 31, 2025, a total of 25 smartphones have received Qi2 certification, reflecting the industry’s commitment to delivering stable and efficient wireless power to a wide range of devices.

According to the data compiled by ChargerLAB, the leading brand is Apple, with an impressive 20 certified devices, while Samsung follows with 3 certified devices, while HMD follows with 2 certifications. This demonstrates Apple’s dominant role in driving Qi2 adoption. 

Apple has solidified its position in Qi2 certification by securing compliance for 20 iPhone models across multiple series. Apple’s leadership highlights its commitment to enhance the wireless charging experience for consumers through Qi2-compliant devices. Samsung follows with three Qi2-certified smartphones.

While Apple dominates the list, Samsung’s certification marks an important step in broader Qi2 adoption, paving the way for more brands to enter the ecosystem.  The Qi2 standard aims to improve wireless charging efficiency, compatibility, and interoperability across devices and brands. With 25 certified smartphones already on the list, the industry is aligning with this next-generation standard, ensuring consumers benefit from a seamless and consistent charging experience.  

As more brands pursue Qi2 certification, this growing list reflects the ongoing momentum in wireless charging innovation.
