InnoSwitch5-Pro: PI Redefines High-Efficiency Power Adapters

Power Integrations has unveiled the cutting-edge InnoSwitch5-Pro IC family, designed to redefine energy efficiency and versatility in high-density power applications. With its advanced features and a compact footprint, the series offers an optimal solution for multiprotocol adapters, direct-charge devices, and other demanding power requirements.

InnoSwitch5-Pro: PI Redefines High-Efficiency Power Adapters-Chargerlab

The InnoSwitch5-Pro integrates a digitally controlled architecture with a 750V/900V PowiGaN™ switch and synchronous rectification. Leveraging Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), the device achieves system efficiencies exceeding 95%, reducing the need for heat dissipation components. Its wide output voltage range (3V-30V) supports USB PD Extended Power Range (EPR), while precise control is achieved via an I2C interface.

This high-performance IC addresses challenges in power density and manufacturing complexity. Applications range from USB PD and PPS chargers to adjustable CV/CC LED ballasts. Developers benefit from advanced protection mechanisms, including thermal shutdown, fault monitoring, and lossless line sensing, enabling safer and more reliable designs.

InnoSwitch5-Pro: PI Redefines High-Efficiency Power Adapters-Chargerlab

The InnoSwitch5-Pro employs the proprietary FluxLink™ feedback technology, ensuring high-speed communication between primary and secondary controllers. The IC's operating frequency reaches up to 140kHz, significantly reducing transformer size. Additionally, the series provides dynamic power adjustments and telemetry features for enhanced programmability and monitoring.
