Xiaomi released the RedmiBook Pro 15 with a 100W USB PD charger (model: AD100) last year. Recently, Xiaomi has launched the upgraded AD100 charger, AD100G, which adopts the GaN solution with a smaller size and supports 100W PD fast charging output.

The Xiaomi AD100G 100W GaN charger adopts a white, glossy shell and an overall flat square shape.

It has a single non-full-pin USB-C port.

The 100W is printed on the side of the shell, and the words "Designed by Xiaomi" are below.

The prongs are fixed.

The Apple 96W charger is next to it as a comparison.

Its size is about 31.75 X 62.1 X 61.93 mm (1.25 X 2.44 X 2.43 inches), with the volume of 122.1cm³ (7.45 in³) and power density of about 0.82W/cm³ (0.05 in³).

The old AD100 charger's size is about 72.2 X 72.14 X 28.07 mm (2.84 X 2.84 X 1.1 inches), with the volume of 146.2cm³ (8.92 in³) and power density of about 0.68W/cm³ (0.041 in³). It is larger than the new AD100G when next to the Apple 96W charger.

The ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM002C finds that the USB-C port supports five fixed PDOs of 5V3A / 9V3A / 12V3A / 15V3A / 20V3A and one PPS of 5-11V5A, with a maximum output power of 100W.

It also supports the USB PD fast charging, the Qualcomm QC5 and QC3.0 fast charging protocols.

When charging the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the charger reached the 9V PDO, with the power of 8.97V 2.92A 26.25W, reaching the maximum fast charging power.

When charging the Redmi Note 11T Pro+, the charger reached the PPS fast charging, with the power of 9V 5.04A 45.45W, reaching the maximum output power of 5A PPS.

When charging the iPad Air 5, the charger reached the 15V PDO, with the power of 15.04V 2.31A 34.83W, reaching the maximum fast charging power.

When charging the MacBook Pro 16 2021, the charger reached the 20V PDO, with the power of 19.98V 4.64A 92.84W, reaching the maximum fast charging power.

Summary of ChargerLAB

Compared with the old AD100, the new Xiaomi AD100G 100W GaN charger adopts the GaN solution with a smaller size and supports 100W PD fast charging output.

It supports five fixed PDOs of 5V3A / 9V3A / 12V3A / 15V3A / 20V3A, one PPS of 5-11V5A, with a maximum output power of 100W and the USB PD fast charging, the Qualcomm QC5 and QC3.0 fast charging protocols.
