Introduction
The EcoFlow RIVER 3 series outdoor power station innovatively applies Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, offering significant advantages in size and weight compared to traditional products, along with greatly improved conversion efficiency. It is not only lighter and more portable, but also features stronger discharge capabilities, significantly extending discharge time across various loads. The unit can charge from 0% to 80% in just 43 minutes using AC power, making it highly suitable for emergency use, and it also supports solar and car charging options.
During a detailed teardown of its internal components, we discovered that the inverter circuit is equipped with a GaN FET — the G2N70R240PB-H from GaNext — which helps EcoFlow develop a bidirectional inverter outdoor power solution, enabling highly efficient charging and discharging.
EcoFlow RIVER 3 300W 245Wh GaN Power Station

The EcoFlow RIVER 3 power station features a compact design, with a height of just 113 mm, making it easy to store and carry. Ventilation openings are located on both sides of the front panel to allow airflow for the cooling fans. On the left side of the device, there's a cigarette lighter socket equipped with a dustproof sealing cover. The power switch is located at the bottom, and it includes an indicator light to show the output status.
On the front of the unit, there's an LCD screen that displays remaining usage time, battery percentage, and real-time input/output power. Below the screen, the device provides two USB-A ports and one USB-C port.
Now that we’ve taken a quick look at the product’s exterior, let’s move on to its internal component — the GaNext G2N70R240PB-H GaN FET.
GaNext G2N70R240PB-H

The EcoFlow outdoor power station is equipped with two GaN FETs from GaNext, model G2N70R240PB-H. These components feature a 700V voltage rating, 240mΩ on-resistance, and support gate drive voltages up to 20V. They are well-suited for soft-switching applications such as Quasi-Resonant (QR) or Active Clamp Flyback (ACF) topologies, totem-pole PFC, inverters, and LLC resonant converters. The devices use a PQFN 8x8 package, which offers excellent thermal performance and compact size, making them ideal for high-density power designs.
Summary of ChargerLAB
