The ZMI 45W 20000mAh Power Bank (QB820) was considered to be one of the best power banks for the Nintendo Switch for its powerful USB PD output and great compatibility. Today we have the successor to the QB820 – the brand new QB823 with 65W max USB PD output.
Compared to the QB820 in deep blue on the left, the QB823 on the right comes in a shiny blue.
They both feature the same industrial design with metal casing and plastic middle frame.
The bidirectional USB-C supports PD and QC with 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/2.25A 45W max input and 65W max output.
Single USB-A output: 5V/2.4A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A.
Dual USB-A output: 5V/3A.
Double-tap the power button, we can activate the USB hub function of the QB823. Neat.
Using our ChargerLAB Power-Z KM001C USB tester, we pulled 60.25W (19.97V/3.02A) from its USB-C port.
Our quick teardown revealed six Samsung INR18650-35E battery cells inside. Each of them has a nominal capacity of 3500mAh and a minimum capacity of 3350mAh.
We don’t know the release date for the ZMI QB823 yet, but definitely stay tuned for our in-depth teardown review coming soon!
